The program create_ap is very useful when it comes to create access points easily. It is available as an AUR package. For instructions about using AUR, have a look at this Archlinux Wiki page. Alternatively, you can clone the GitHub repository.

On the RPi, use the following command: sudo create_ap -n wlan0 myssid mypassphrase. It creates an access point with the ssid myssid. Since no internet connection would be shared, the option -n is used. The passphrase is optional. Now you should be able to connect to the Wi-Fi network myssid from any Wi-Fi capable device.
